NBA Futures: Best Bets to Win NBA Championship (2021-22)

With the NBA summer league now in full swing, free agency is coming to a close, and people are getting their future bets in on the teams they think can win it all next season. While the board has shifted from its starting numbers due to sharps and player moves, there is still some value to be had for those who dig deep enough.

With most team’s rosters set as they will be when the season starts, let’s take a closer at the market.

Favorite Play

There’s one team out west that has two certified super-stars, one a former 2X NBA Finals MVP, as well as a championship-proven head coach, the LA Clippers. Led by now second-year head coach Tyronn Lue, the Clippers return all their key players for a squad that made it all the way to the conference finals with a banged-up roster.

When healthy, not only do the Clippers have two of the best scorers in the league in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, they also have a two-headed bulldog at the point in Pat Beverly and the recently resigned Reggie Jackson.

Down low, Marcus Morris Sr. returns with a fully healthy two-headed monster in their own right at center in Ivica Zubac and Serge Ibaka. If Nicolas Batum can return to form at the SF position, the Lakers have the depth to make another serious run in the Western Conference side of the bracket.

From there, I’ll take my chances with a roster full of veteran talent and championship experience, and any remaining production they can get from DeMarcus Cousins off the bench will be a bonus.
