Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat Best NBA First Basket Props Odds & Picks

It will be Boston’s Robert Williams III going against Miami’s Bam Adebayo in the opening tip-off, and Adebayo is the heavy favorite to help Miami gain the initial possession. Adebayo has won 11-of-19 jump balls in the playoffs while Williams is 3-for-8. Williams and Adebayo have one tip-off win apiece in this series, but Adebayo has the 3-2 advantage over the last two seasons.

The Heat have done well by grabbing the first basket in 48% of their games, but the Celtics are the best in the league this season at 65%.

The Heat gained the initial possession in Game 2 and got on the board right away with a PJ Tucker three-pointer. Unfortunately for Miami, nothing would go right for them in this game as they were handed a 127-102 loss.

While I feel Miami could gain the first possession, they won’t make the first basket. The Boston Garden will be loud and this will give the Celtics the fuel they need to get on the board first.

Jaylen Brown is the guy that handles the first field goals as he leads the team with 31% of first field attempts and 38% of first made field goals, including three in the playoffs. Brown gets Boston on the board.
