When the Pelicans and Bulls tip-off tonight in the United Center, two former high-profile teammates will be relegated to the sidelines.

Brandon Ingram, who was listed on the injury report as questionable with left fifth toe soreness, will not suit up in Chicago.

The Bulls will be without Lonzo Ball, who recently underwent surgery on his left knee again and is expected to miss at least several months. However, consider that a tentative timeline. Ball hasn’t played since Jan. 14 due to that ailing knee.

“You always try to stay optimistic that this will get resolved and he’ll be fine,” Billy Donovan said last week. “But until he gets back and gets into the situations that were causing him pain, to see how he responds in being back in those situations, we’ll find out more. I don’t know how long it will take before he can actually start the rehab process.”

CJ McCollum (right ankle soreness) will play after being named a game-time decision by Willie Green in pregame, but Trey Murphy (foot soreness) will not.

Green’s starting five will consist of McCollum, Herb Jones, Naji Marshall, Zion Williamson and Jonas Valanciunas.

Donovan will trot out Ayo Dosunmu, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Patrick Williams and Nikola Vucevic.

In case you missed it, the annual GM Survey was released this morning and the Pelicans and individual players didn’t garner as much praise as one might have believed following their impressive finish to last season.
