Today’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets

Hopefully, you had ‘successfully betting NBA player props’ as one of your New Year’s resolutions, and we can get a jump start. Here are my favorite plays for today. Remember to shop around for the best odds.

D’Angelo Russell OVER 6.5 assists (+100)

The Timberwolves will have to do a lot to keep up in a game with a 3.5-point spread with a 237.5 over/under. I expect that effort to be led by Russell.

Memphis’ top-ranked defense will scare many people off this prop, but that knowledge is baked into the line set by oddsmakers. What shouldn’t be forgotten is Memphis’ breakneck pace, the second fastest in the league. There will be plenty of opportunities for Russell to reach his over-assist total.

Russell has averaged 6.3 assists per game this year, and he’s dipped below that a bit recently. He is due for some positive regression, and I see this as a perfect chance to start that bounce-back effort.

O.G. Anunoby OVER 6.5 Reb + Ast (-115)

I’m going with the Raptor’s forward against Golden State for my daily combo prop.

Anunoby has averaged 5.6 boards and 2.0 assists per game this season. Like Russell, he’s underperformed recently, bringing this prop down for some solid value.

The only faster-paced team than Memphis is Golden State. The Warriors’ speed will allow Anunoby to bring down some boards, especially considering their below-average rebounding rate. The books like this prop with the -115 odds set, but I still see it as a solid option.

Paolo Banchero OVER 5.5 rebounds (-110)

Finally, I’m going with the Magic rookie to pull down some boards.

Miami’s offense is one of the worst in the country, ranking 26th. Banchero will have plenty of chances to rebound the lights out. The projections agree with the BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet showing Banchero’s rebounding total to be one of the best plays on the slate with a +38 percent expected value.

Life’s too short to bet the under, right?
