Live updates: Suns win close game against Timberwolves, 107-100, in Durant’s home debut

The Phoenix Suns won a close game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home Wednesday night, 107-100.

Fourth Quarter

— 1:10 left: The Suns are up, 101-97.

There was just a crazy sequence in which Ayton was blocked, the Suns forced a loose ball and then fired an outlet pass to Paul, who missed a layup. Minnesota will have the ball when action returns.

— 3:21 left: The Suns lead the Timberwolves, 99-94.

Durant is set to check back in after the Suns’ timeout. Towns just hit a 3-pointer to cut Phoenix’s lead from eight to five.

— 5:29 left: Torrey Craig had an offensive rebound and putback that forced a Minnesota timeout. It’s Chris Paul, Booker, Josh Okogie, Craig and Ayton on the floor for the Suns.

— 6:42 left: The Suns lead the Timberwolves 92-89.

Minnesota started the quarter on a 10-3 run but the Suns have scored eight of the last 13 points. Durant checked out with 7:36 left and may return. He’s at 25 minutes and is on an undisclosed restriction.


Third Quarter

— 3:43 left: The Suns lead the Timberwolves 68-66.

— 9:26 left: The Timberwolves lead the Suns 60-50 with 9:26 left in the third quarter.

Phoenix has not scored in the last 1:27 as Minnesota is on a 9-2 run. The Suns are shooting 22-of-58 (37.9 percent) from the field and 2-of-10 (20 percent) from 3-point range.


Second Quarter

— 2:38 left: The Suns lead the Timberwolves 44-41.

Durant scored his first field goal at home for the Suns. He has three points on 1-of-8 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 13 minutes.

Phoenix is shooting 20-of-49 (40.8 percent) from the field and 1-of-7 from 3-point range. Minnesota is shooting 16-of-42 (38.1 percent) from the field and 5-of-15 from three.

Booker leads the Suns with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Okogie has six, and the Suns’ bench has 12 points so far compared to Minnesota’s nine.

Towns has 14 points to lead he Timberwolves. The Suns are outscoring Minnesota in the paint, 30-14, but the Timberwolves have 11 second-chance points compared to Phoenix’s two.


First Quarter

Okogie just had a breakaway dunk that forced a Minnesota timeout. Phoenix is on an 11-4 run as it is now shooting 10-of-16 from the field. The Suns have assisted five of those shots.

Phoenix has 16 points in the paint compared to Minnesota’s six. Devin Booker has nine points to lead the Suns followed by Okogie’s six.

Towns has six points to lead Minnesota.

— Suns backup forward Torrey Craig entered the game for Durant after the team’s timeout. Remember, Durant is on a minutes restriction.

Durant is yet to score his first points. He is 0-of-2 from the field but has an assist to Ayton.

The Suns are shooting 5-of-11 from the field. Minnesota is shooting 5-of-12 and has two 3-pointers, both of which have come from center Karl Anthony-Towns.
