Murray State tops FIU, 84-71

MIAMI(AP) -- Isacc Miles scored 16 points and Murray State beat FIU 84-71 on Monday night, giving Isiah Thomas his fifth loss in seven games with the Golden Panthers.

Danero Thomas scored 13 points, while Ivan Aska and B.J. Jenkins each added 12 for Murray State (4-1), the preseason co-favorite in the Ohio Valley. The Racers ended the first half on a 34-10 run.

Stephon Weaver had 23 points for FIU (2-5), which playing its final home game until Dec. 31. The Golden Panthers start a run of eight straight on the road Saturday at Eastern Kentucky.

The game capped the Miami regional in the 2K Sports Classic, benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.
