Missouri stays perfect at home with win over Oklahoma
Feb 12, 2011 - 10:34 PM Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - Michael Dixon had 16 points, Ricardo Ratliffe scored 13 and 19th-ranked Missouri posted an 84-61 victory over Oklahoma.Justin Safford rounded out the Tigers' double-digit scorers with 11 points and Laurence Bowers totaled nine rebounds and eight points for Missouri (19-6, 5-5 Big 12), which has won two of its last three games.
"It was good to see our guys get back on track," said Missouri head coach Mike Anderson. "We had great energy. Oklahoma came out really shooting the ball well. With our defense I thought we dictated the tempo, we kept up on them and eventually those shots were not falling."
The Tigers have won all 15 of their games at Mizzou Arena this season.
Cameron Clark notched 16 points to pace the Sooners (12-12, 4-6), who have dropped three straight.
"I thought we did some good things in the first half, and had an opportunity to have a lead at halftime, but I don't know who that was out there for us in the second half," said Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel.
Clark was fouled on a layup, and he made the free throw to give Oklahoma an 18-11 lead nearly eight minutes into the contest. The Tigers responded with a 14-0 surge, but Tyler Neal nailed a three-pointer later to draw the Sooners even at 27 with 4:40 to play in the first half.
Missouri closed out the frame on a 10-4 run, then Marcus Denmon hit a jumper to extend the Tigers' lead to 43-31 early in the second half. Missouri continued to pull away as the its advantage grew to 66-44 on a Kim English layup with about seven minutes remaining.
The outcome was never in doubt down the stretch.

Missouri shot 53.6 percent from the field in the second half...Neal chipped in 14 points for Oklahoma...The Sooners committed 18 turnovers while forcing only seven.
