Moore, Temple down Dayton

Feb 12, 2011 - 11:53 PM Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - Ramone Moore tallied 26 points and nine rebounds, as the 24th-ranked Temple Owls handled the Dayton Flyers, 75-63.

Scootie Randall chipped in with 17 points and seven rebounds for the Owls (19-5, 9-2 A-10), who have won six in a row. Khalif Wyatt added 12 points for Temple, which shot 49.1 percent from the field.

Chris Wright finished with 15 points and 14 boards for the Flyers (17-9, 5-6), who have dropped two straight since a two-game winning streak. Juwan Staten and Luke Fabrizius tallied 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Trailing by three, 10-7, with 11:51 to go in the first half, the Owls put together a 16-5 run. Juan Fernandez tallied seven points during the stretch, including a three-pointer with 6:25 left to give Temple a 23-15 lead.

Dayton got within four moments later, but the Owls responded with eight straight points to take a 31-19 margin on Micheal Eric's layup. Wright made a jumper with 56 seconds remaining to make it 31-21 at the half.

Temple pretty much cruised to victory in the second half, as the Flyers never got closer than seven.

Temple holds a 16-11 series edge over Dayton, which includes a 49-41 triumph over the Flyers last season...Fernandez ended with nine points and nine assists...Dayton fell to 13-3 at home this season...The Owls went 15-of-24 from the foul line, while Dayton went 7-of-10 from the charity stripe...The Owls were without senior forward Lavoy Allen (ankle).
