No. 17 Texas has no problem with TCU

Jan 20, 2015 - 8:20 AM Fort Worth, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Javan Felix tallied 15 points off the bench and 17th-ranked Texas defeated TCU, 66-48, on Monday.

Isaiah Taylor and Myles Turner scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Longhorns (14-4, 3-2 Big 12).

"We know that the foundation of this team is to get the ball inside," said Turner. "Once you get the ball inside it opens up everybody else outside."

Kenrich Williams was the only Horned Frog in double figures with 10 points.

TCU (14-4, 1-4) has dropped four of its last five after a 13-0 start to the season. The Horned Frogs kicked off a seven-game stretch in which they will play teams in conference currently ranked in the Top-25.

Texas jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the early going, then the margin reached double digits after Taylor's 3-pointer just past the halfway point of the first.

Chris Washburn's layup closed the first-half scoring and helped the Horned Frogs cut the deficit to 33-20 at the break.

Trey Zeigler made it a 10-point spread with a dunk, but Texas clamped down on the defensive end and put the game away from there.

The Longhorns went on a 15-1 run from Zeigler's basket as TCU's offense was held without a field goal for nearly eight minutes. Devonta Abron finally ended the string of misses with a layup that closed the Horned Frogs gap to 52-30.
