Oklahoma State outlasts Texas in OT

Feb 5, 2015 - 5:11 AM Austin, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Phil Forte made two free throws with 2.1 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Oklahoma State to a 65-63 victory over No. 25 Texas on Wednesday night.

Le'Bryan Nash led the Cowboys (15-7, 5-5 Big 12) with 17 points, while Forte finished with 14. The duo struggled shooting as they combined to go 9-of-32 from the floor.

"It was a great game, a great, hard-fought game by two teams who were really fighting for a win," said Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford. "You could tell both teams really had a great desire to win the game. They made a great run at us in the second half."

Anthony Hickey Jr. scored 15 points and recorded four steals for Oklahoma State.

Isaiah Taylor had 18 points but committed seven of the Longhorns' 18 turnovers. Demarcus Holland supplied 14 points and five rebounds for Texas (14-8, 3-6), which has lost four games in a row.

"We came out the second half and we fought, had a chance to win the game, but just couldn't pull it off," Taylor said, who missed the front end of a one- and-one with 3.2 seconds left in regulation and the score tied at 56.

Texas trailed by 15 points late in the first half and didn't catch Oklahoma State until Taylor's jumper knotted the score with 43 seconds left.

Oklahoma State twice missed the openers of one-and-one's down the stretch.

Connor Lammert was at the foul line with 11.6 seconds to go in overtime and missed the first attempt before converting the second to tie it at 63.

Game Notes

The Cowboys scored 18 points off turnovers ... Cameron Ridley had 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks for Texas ... The Longhorns owned a 35-29 rebounding advantage.
