Washington takes care of Cal

Jan 17, 2011 - 5:50 AM Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Isaiah Thomas scored 27 points and dished out 13 assists to help the 17th-ranked Washington Huskies beat the California Golden Bears, 92-71, at Haas Pavilion.

Justin Holiday had 23 points and Matthew Bryan-Amaning added 22 points with 11 rebounds for the Huskies (13-4, 5-1 Pac-10), who rebounded from Thursday's loss at Stanford.

Harper Kamp scored 20 points for California (9-8, 2-3), which was aiming for its third straight win.

A Holiday layup ignited a 9-2 run that Bryan-Amaning capped with a layup to give Washington a 19-11 lead. Down 22-15, the Golden Bears scored seven of the next eight points to pull within 23-22 on an Emerson Murray bucket.

Nursing a one-point lead at 25-24, the Huskies outscored the Golden Bears 23-9 over the final seven minutes of the first half.

Washington's lead reached 21 at 54-33 early in the second half on Holiday's three-pointer. The Huskies maintained a comfortable advantage the rest of the way.

Game Notes

Allen Crabbe and Richard Solomon scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, for California...The Golden Bears still lead the all-time series, 77-76.
