Warren's three lifts Ole Miss over No. 10 Kentucky

Feb 2, 2011 - 3:02 AM Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Chris Warren connected on a three-pointer in the final seconds, lifting Ole Miss over No. 10 Kentucky, 71-69, at Tad Smith Coliseum.

Warren paced the Rebels (14-8, 2-5 SEC) with 22 points. Zach Graham added 16, and both Reginald Buckner and Terrance Henry scored 12 points for Ole Miss, which had dropped five of six.

Terrence Jones scored 22 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for Kentucky (16-5, 4-3), which had a two-game winning streak snapped. Doron Lamb, who missed a potential game-winning three at the buzzer, scored 20 on 8-of-13 shooting, while Brandon Knight contributed 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for the Wildcats.

After a Henry layup with 3;31 remaining the Rebels held a seven-point lead, 66-59. However, the Wildcats used a short 6-0 spurt, capped by a Lamb three- pointer at 2:40 to trim their deficit to 66-65. After a Warren layup, Jones was sent to the line, and made both, keeping the Rebels lead to one at the two minute mark.

Warren attempted to expand the Ole Miss advantage to three with another layup at 1:47, but his attempt was blocked by DeAndre Liggins, and Jones was fouled as he streaked down the court with 1:21 left on the clock.

Jones made the first from the line to tie the game at 68-68, and his second free throw gave the Wildcats the one-point advantage, the first time Kentucky led in the second half since 15:15.

Both teams then missed short basket attempts inside the final minute, and the Rebels called a timeout with 10 ticks left on the clock.

Warren took the ball just over the mid-court line and put up the long three inside the final five second to put Ole Miss back on top for the final time.

Lamb attempted a three in the closing seconds, but the shot went wide left of the basket.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle with the Wildcats holding a slim 35-34 advantage at the break. Jones paced Kentucky with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Lamb scored seven and both Knight and Liggins added five points.
