Tristan Thompson had 13 points and 11 rebounds while J'Covan Brown added 11 points and five assists for the second-seeded Longhorns (26-6), who will play Texas A&M in the semifinals on Friday.

"A really good team win for us," said Texas head coach Rick Barnes. "I thought our bench was terrific tonight. I thought those guys, really every one of them, came in and did exactly what we would ask them to do."

Cade Davis had 17 points to lead the 10th-seeded Sooners (14-18), who last won this tournament in 2003. Andrew Fitzgerald added 10 points in the loss.

Texas never trailed this game. Thompson opened the scoring with a slam and a Jai Lucas layup just over five minutes in pushed the Longhorns' lead to 11-2.

Texas continued to build on its advantage and a 7-0 run saw the team take a 33-14 lead on a Hamilton layup with just under four minutes to play in the first half.

It was a 43-20 lead at the half, but the Sooners tried to get back into the game with an 8-0 run, pulling within 53-39 on a Davis three-pointer with 12 1/2 minutes to play.

However, Texas was able to keep its lead in double digits as the closest Oklahoma got down the stretch was 13 points.
