TaShawn Thomas added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the third-seeded Sooners (22-9), who will face 13th-ranked Iowa State in Friday's semifinals. Jordan Woodard and Isaiah Cousins tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Oklahoma outscored Oklahoma State by a 43-23 margin in the second half.

"Two different halves. Really good win, proud of our guys for hanging in there," said Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger.

Trailing 21-19, Oklahoma State went on an 11-0 run that bridged the first and second halves. Nash went 6-of-6 from the foul line during the surge to give the Cowboys a 30-21 lead with 18:37 to play.

But the Sooners responded with an 18-5 run to take the lead for good. Hield tallied 10 points during the burst to make it 39-35 with 13:02 to play.

The score was 43-43 when Thomas threw down a dunk to spark an 18-3 Oklahoma run. Thomas and Cousins each scored six points during the game-clinching surge, which ended on two Hield free throws with 1:42 remaining.

"Our last game with them, they really took it from us in the second half. This game, we had open shots -- wide open shots," said Cowboys coach Travis Ford. "We just didn't convert."
