Mar 20, 2015 - 11:18 AM University Park, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Patrick Chambers has agreed to a two-year contract extension with Penn State.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the contract will keep Chambers with the Nittany Lions through at least the 2018-19 season.
Penn State finished 18-16 this season, the most wins for the school since 2010-11.
"I support what Patrick is doing and I support his long-term leadership of this program," said athletic director Sandy Barbour. "I love the heart with which his team represents the university, Nittany Nation and the community, both on the court with measurable success and improvements and off with a 100 percent graduation rate and active participation in countless community activities."
Chambers took over in June 2011 and has a record of 56-75 in four seasons.
"I am grateful for the commitment and enthusiasm for the men's basketball program Eric Barron, Sandy Barbour and the Penn State administration have shown," said Chambers. "We are proud of what we have accomplished, but know there is so much more ahead. I think our staff and players have laid a foundation to build upon for years to come."
Chambers was the head coach at Boston University for two years before taking the Penn State job. He had a record of 42-28 with the Terriers.
