Georgetown
Last season: 22-11, lost in NCAA Tournament round of 32.
Nickname: Hoyas.
Coach: John Thompson III.
Conference: Big East.
Key returner: D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, last season's leading scorer and the roster's ''best instinctual rebounder,'' in Thompson's words. He initially declared he would skip his senior year and enter NBA draft but then changed his mind.
Who left: Top rebounders Joshua Smith, Mikael Hopkins; defensive leader Jabril Trawick.
The Skinny: With Smith-Rivera - aka ''DSR'' - and key sophomores L.J. Peak and Isaac Copeland joined by two freshmen expected to have immediate impacts, 6-foot-10 center Jessie Govan and 6-7 forward Marcus Derrickson, Georgetown will aim to finally end its recent run of early NCAA Tournament exits against lower-seeded teams.
