Pitino: Will use offseason to decide future with Louisville
Mar 2, 2016 - 12:18 AM LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Louisville coach Rick Pitino says he'll do what he normally does and use the offseason to decide whether to return as the Cardinals' coach. The school last month announced a self-imposed postseason ban after its investigation of an escort's allegations that a former staffer paid her and other dancers for sex parties with recruits and players determined violations occurred. Pitino has vowed not to resign but questions continue about his future.
Pitino said the No. 11 Cardinals helped reinvigorate him after the scandal broke last fall and that he'll take time off after the season to re-evaluate his future.
He told 93.9 The Ville in an interview Tuesday that ''when that day happens where I think it's better off that Louisville get a different leader, I'll step down.''
No one has shouted yet.
