Texas' Ridley closer to return, status for Big 12 unclear
Mar 7, 2016 - 5:41 PM AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texas coach Shaka Smart said injured center Cam Ridley's availability for postseason tournaments remains unclear.Ridley has been out since breaking a bone in his foot just after Christmas and missed the entire Big 12 regular season. In his 11 starts, Ridley averaged 12.7 points and 10 rebounds.
Texas plays Baylor on Thursday in the Big 12 Tournament.
Smart said Ridley had a good doctor's appointment Monday and will run and jump in practice for the first time this year. He would be a big boost for a lineup that has lacked scoring punch on the front line and was dominated under the basket in recent losses to Baylor and Kansas.
Senior center Prince Ibeh was named the Big 12's defensive player of the year, but has struggled offensively.
No one has shouted yet.
