Purdue's Kendall Stephens plans to explore transferring

(AP) Purdue junior Kendall Stephens will consider transferring to another school next season.Coach Matt Painter issued a statement Thursday, saying the 6-foot-7 swingman had been granted a release to explore his options but that the door remains open at Purdue - if Stephens wants to return for his senior season.
The 6-foot-7 swingman and the son of former Boilermakers star Everette Stephens averaged 6.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 24 games last season. His 38 3-pointers were fourth on the team.
Stephens already ranks No. 9 on the school's career list for 3-pointers made with 175. He has averaged. 7.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 90 games at Purdue.
