Vandy sophomore guard Wade Baldwin IV entering NBA draft

Apr 6, 2016 - 12:12 AM NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Sophomore guard Wade Baldwin IV is foregoing his final two years of eligibility at Vanderbilt and entering the NBA Draft.

Baldwin announced his decision Tuesday in a statement released through the school.

The 6-foot-3, 194-pound guard averaged more assists as a freshman or sophomore than anyone in Vanderbilt history, and the 4.81 assists per game he averaged in his career is second all-time only to Jan van Breda Kolff who averaged 5.38 in his career.

Baldwin averaged 14.1 points, four rebounds and 5.2 assists per game this season as a sophomore.

He says he will finish this semester. He thanked Vanderbilt and former coach Kevin Stallings, who left the Commodores for Pittsburgh on March 27, for making him a better player. He also thanked his teammates and fans.
