Brandin Knight joins Rutgers basketball coaching staff
Apr 18, 2016 - 9:16 PM PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) Brandin Knight has joined the Rutgers basketball staff after spending the past 10 seasons at Pittsburgh.Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell announced the hiring on Monday, giving him a New Jersey native and a top recruiter on his staff.
Knight was instrumental in the recruitment and development of All-American Sam Young, along with all-league guards Levance Fields, Ashton Gibbs and Tray Woodall.
Prior to being named a Pittsburgh assistant by Jamie Dixon in 2008, Knight served the 2007-08 and 2006-07 seasons as director of men's basketball operations and program assistant/video coordinator, respectively.
Playing point guard, Knight helped lead the Panthers to consecutive Big East regular season titles (2001-02 and 2002-03), and two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances (2002 and 2003).
