NC State adds 7-foot Turkish center Omer Yurtseven
May 16, 2016 - 4:41 PM RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) North Carolina State has added center Omer Yurtseven to its basketball roster.Team spokesman Fred Demarest on Monday confirmed that the school had received his signed letter of intent.
Yurtseven is a 7-foot center from Turkey who scored 91 points in a game for his Turkish under-18 team this weekend.
His addition strengthens a Wolfpack team that this offseason lost two players to transfer and had three underclassmen declare for the NBA Draft. Two of them - big men BeeJay Anya and Abdul-Malik Abu - still have the option to return.
North Carolina State also added 6-7 forward Darius Hicks over the weekend.
