Alabama signs Ohio State transfer Daniel Giddens

(AP) Former Ohio State player Daniel Giddens has signed to play for Alabama.Crimson Tide coach Avery Johnson announced the signing of the 6-foot-10, 230-pound power forward/center on Tuesday. Giddens, who played for the Buckeyes as a freshman, will have to sit out next season under NCAA transfer rules.
He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Giddens played in 33 games and started seven last season. He averaged 3.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots and boosted all of those numbers in four postseason games.
The Marietta, Georgia native played for Oak Hill Academy as a senior and was a consensus top 50 player in the recruiting rankings.
