Arizona G Trier injures knee

Dec 19, 2017 - 6:28 PM Arizona junior guard Allonzo Trier is day-to-day with a bone bruise in his left knee suffered in Monday night's win over North Dakota State, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reported Tuesday, citing a source.

Trier will not practice Tuesday, according to Goodman.

It's not clear if Trier will be able to play when No. 18 Arizona (9-3) wraps up its nonconference schedule Thursday night at home against UConn (7-3) at McKale Center.

Trier is averaging a team-high 21.7 points and is shooting 57.0 percent from the field, including 44.1 percent from 3-point range (26 of 59).

He went down in pain with 9:53 left in Arizona's 83-53 win Monday night after his left knee collided with the knee of North Dakota State's Paul Miller. Trier was helped to the locker room but did return to the bench late in the game with an ice pack on his knee.

Coach Sean Miller said after the game that he suspected the injury with just a bone bruise but added that Trier was to undergo more testing Tuesday.

Arizona opens Pac-12 play Dec. 30 at home against No. 3 Arizona State.
