Ohio State seeks .500 record against WCC opponents
Nov 20, 2006 - 3:53 PM San Francisco (2-1) at No. 3 Ohio St (4-0) 8:00 pm ESTCOLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) - Ohio State seeks to even its record against West Coast Conference foes when it faces San Francisco on Monday.
The Buckeyes suffered a 76-65 setback to the Dons in their 2003-04 season opener. That loss gave Ohio State in a 1-2 all-time record against West Coast Conference opponents.
Daequan Cook scored 22 points off the bench and fellow freshman Mike Conley added 13 as the third-ranked Buckeyes posted a 74-45 rout of Eastern Kentucky on Friday.
Ohio State shot 71 percent (17-of-24) in the first half en route to earning its 22nd straight non-conference home win.
The Dons suffered their first loss of the season Friday, an 86-66 loss to Fresno State.
Manny Quezada had 18 points and five assists and Armondo Surratt added 16 for San Francisco, which shot a miserable 34 percent (24-of-70) overall.
