Wake Forest Basketball: Conference Schedule Released

The conference portion of the 2022-23 Wake Forest basketball season has been released.

As always, the Deacs will play Duke and NC State both home and away, and this season Wake Forest will also play Boston College, Clemson, UNC, and Notre Dame both home and away.

As the font continues to be way too small on these schedule releases, I will run through the schedule below. Personally, I don’t really understand why the actual schedule on the schedule release graphic is reduced to like a third of the whole image, but I digress.

At quick glance, this a pretty balanced schedule—the Deacs never have more than two home games or road games in a row. Two ACC home games including one against Duke during Christmas break is unfortunate, but not uncommon for Wake. Obviously, we don’t yet know for a fact what teams are going to be good this season, but it doesn’t look like there are many really tough stretches in this schedule. If I had to guess, I would say the hardest stretch would be Jan 4th-Jan 11 with @UNC, @Louisville, and FSU at home, and even that is pretty dependent on how the Cards and Noles bounce back this season.

Hopefully the Deacs can improve upon their success from last season and finally make it back to the NCAA tournament.
