College Basketball Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (2/20)

Welcome to the Monday college basketball slate. March Madness is right around the corner, and the bubble is starting to take shape. Be sure to check out my bracketology article, which I’ll continue updating as March gets closer. There are some solid matchups today, but remember not to force any bets you don’t love. There is still plenty of season left.

Best College Basketball Bets for Monday

Here are my best bets for Monday. 

Oklahoma State at West Virginia 

In a battle between two reeling teams, both are in the must-win territory to keep their tournament hopes alive as the season winds down.

Oklahoma State is one of the worst teams in the nation at playing on the road, ranking 313th in the metric. West Virginia has a solid interior defense and will line up well against Oklahoma State’s perimeter and mid-range shooting. 

Where the Pokes excel is on defense with the 10th-best defense in the nation. They won’t allow anything against their prolific interior defense and ability to stop second-chance points. I can’t trust any team right now, which makes me comfortable trusting the under.  

Play: Under 143 (-110 at DraftKings)

Kansas at TCU

In the spirit of complete honesty, I don’t think I’ve had a harder game to read than this one all season.

It is tough to simply trust the numbers here, as TCU played six games without Mike Miles. They lost five of them. That’s one fewer than when they played with him for the entire season before he went down. TCU showed their ability to handle Kansas before in Allen Fieldhouse, and now they’re at home.

On the other hand, Kansas’ interior defense should be suffocating, and I can’t imagine TCU shooting above 50% from beyond the arc. The Jayhawks are on a roll, and they play well on the road.

In the end, I’m taking the under, there was a lot of scoring in the last game, and I am expecting some expected regression with these two top-25 ranked defenses.
