UConn vs St. Mary’s: NCAA Tournament Same Game Parlay Picks
Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Leg 1 – Over 127.5 (-110)
UConn is the 4th ranked team in the country in terms of offensive efficiency, and St. Mary’s is no slouch either, ranking 40th. The Huskies are a top-100 team in 2PT%, 3PT%, and FT%, and they grab offensive rebounds at the 4th highest rate in the country, giving them plenty of opportunity to clean up their misses. St. Mary’s also knocks down their threes at a top-50 mark in the country, and they’re just outside of the top-100 in FG% overall. Pace is the limiting factor for this play, but with a total this low, a lot of things have to go right for the game to not go over.
Leg 2 – UConn ML (-185)
While St. Mary’s has had yet another impressive season under Randy Bennett, I believe that their run comes to an end here. Though Connecticut ended up with a 4 seed, they ended the season 4th overall in Kenpom and were considered to be the best team in college basketball earlier in the season. The Huskies are ultra-efficient offensively (see above), but they also get after it on the defensive end (top-30 in 2PT% and 3PT% allowed) and on the boards (top-10 in offensive rebounding and top-15 overall). Because of the pace of play that St. Mary’s can dictate, I’m not comfortable laying the points for a multi-possession cover, but I do think UConn will advance out of this matchup to the Sweet 16.
Leg 3 – Adama Sanogo Over 7.5 Rebounds (-140)
I’m staying away from player point props in this parlay, again because of the pace of play and the defensive capabilities of each team, and I think this is a great number for Sanogo. I have already laid out how elite of a rebounding team UConn is, and I don’t expect that to take much of a dip against a Gaels team that is pretty small outside of 6’10” Mitchell Saxen. St. Mary’s rebounds the ball at a middling rate, ranking in the 100’s in offensive and defensive rebounding, but Sanogo has size and athleticism that is rarely seen in the WCC. Look for UConn’s big man to dominate the boards in this matchup.
