Mar 23, 2023 - 2:25 PMFor the second consecutive season, the Arkansas Razorbacks have taken down a No. 1 seed. Arkansas vs. UConn: Best Same Game Parlay
Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
Leg 1: Arkansas First Half Moneyline (+150)
The Razorbacks trailed by eight at halftime against the Jayhawks, which may make this seem like a surprising play. But the Razorbacks were phenomenal in the first half against the Illinois Fighting Illini. They led by 10 at halftime of that one.
More importantly, the Huskies have not been a good first-half team this tournament. They trailed by two to the Iona Gaels, and they led by just one over the Saint Mary’s Gaels. The Huskies did not handle the early pressure of either of those games well, then settled in and blew their opponents away in the second half.
On Thursday, the Razorbacks are playing with house money, while once again, the Huskies are the team with all the pressure. At this price, take the Razorbacks to win the first 20.
Leg 2: Ricky Council IV Over 15.5 Points (-115)
Davonte Davis has had a great tournament thus far for the Razorbacks, but so has Council. Council was the leading scorer for the Razorbacks all season, and he has 39 points in two games this tournament. He will face a challenge in a Huskies’ defense that is ranked 14th in the country in adjusted defensive efficiency according to KenPom. However, he just had no trouble against the team ranked ninth in the nation.
Council never comes out of the game, and the Razorbacks can’t afford him to sit at all in this one. Look for him to get closer to 20 than 15 in this game.
Leg 3: Jordan Hawkins 3+ Three-Pointers (+130)
Hawkins has been on a tear from beyond the arc. He is 7-12 in this tournament and all of his points have come from either three-point range or the free throw line. He has at least three made three-pointers in seven of his last nine games.
The Razorbacks are the 23rd-best three-point defense in the nation this season. Still, they did allow the Jayhawks to shoot nearly 40% last weekend. If you want to play it very safe, you can take Hawkins to hit two three-pointers and still get a nice payout. But we think it is worth it to get the better price and expect him to continue his hot shooting.
