Foster leads No. 23 Georgia Tech past Penn State
Dec 3, 2009 - 3:27 AM STATE COLLEGE, Pa.(AP) -- Deja Foster had 19 points and six rebounds to lead No. 23 Georgia Tech to a 64-60 victory over Penn State on Wednesday night.Brigitte Ardossi added 17 points and seven rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (5-1) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge game.
Tyra Grant led Penn State (5-2) with 20 points and seven rebounds. Alex Bentley added 12 points but had nine of the Lady Lions' 20 turnovers.
Georgia Tech trailed only for the first minute when they were down 1-0. They then scored 11 consecutive points and led 35-25 at the half.
Penn State pulled to 59-58 with under 2 minutes left on a basket by Janessa Wolff.
Ardossi had a three-point play with 1:10 left to extend the lead back to four, and the Lady Lions missed their last two field-goal attempts.
