Adair posts double-double for George Washington
Nov 30, 2006 - 3:24 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Jessica Adair scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Kimberly Beck added 18 points to lead No. 20 George Washington to a 73-47 victory over Villanova.The reigning Atlantic 10 co-Player of the Week, Adair scored 16 points, grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds and blocked four shots for the Colonials (6-1) in Saturday's win over James Madison.
A sophomore forward, Adair made 8-of-16 shots and collected six of her rebounds off the offensive glass. Her performance helped George Washington defeat Villanova for the third time in as many meetings.
Kenan Cole scored 13 points and Sarah-Jo Lawrence added 10 for the Colonials, who shot 52 percent (14-of-27) from the floor en route to a 37-20 halftime advantage.
Lisa Karcic and Tia Grant scored 10 points apiece and Jackie Adamshick collected 13 rebounds for the Wildcats, who shot just 26 percent (13-of-50) but had a 44-39 rebound edge.
