Simon leads Arizona State past Washington State

Simon scored 15 of her career-high 24 points in the first half as No. 14 Arizona State coasted to an 89-44 Pac-10 Conference rout of Washington State.

Emily Westerberg added 19 points and Danielle Orsillo 15 for Arizona State (13-2, 3-1 Pac-10), which raced to a 46-18 halftime lead.

Simon made 9-of-11 shots from the field, including 4-of-5 3-pointers.

Katie Appleton scored nine points for Washington State, which shot 30 percent (17-of-56) and committed 21 turnovers.
