North Carolina rips Clemson to stay unbeaten
Jan 12, 2007 - 3:34 AM CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- North Carolina is so good that even 25 turnovers can't slow it down.Ivory Latta scored 23 points and LaToya Pringle added 21 as the second-ranked Tar Heels pulled away in the second half for a 100-65 romp over Clemson in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
North Carolina (19-0, 4-0 ACC) eclipsed the 100-point mark for the fourth time this season and has scored fewer than 87 points just three times.
The Tigers (9-9, 1-2) were within 40-30 at halftime, but the Tar Heels shot 59.5 percent (22-of-37) from the field after the break to turn it into a rout.
Camille Little scored 16 points and Erlana Larkins and Rashanda McCants had 14 and 13, respectively, for UNC, which held a 50-39 edge on the glass.
Tasha Taylor hit 11-of-19 shots and finished with 27 points for Clemson, which shot 31 percent (23-of-75).
