Fowles, LSU bounce back with win over Mississippi St.

Jan 15, 2007 - 12:32 AM STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles continued to enjoy its trip to Mississippi State.

Fowles scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures as sixth-ranked Louisiana State posted a 77-50 victory over Mississippi State in a Southeastern Conference contest.

Fowles also grabbed 11 rebounds en route to her 46th career double-double as the Lady Tigers (16-2, 2-1 SEC) captured their seventh straight win here and 15th consecutive against the Lady Rebels.

Freshman Allison Hightower scored a career-high 14 points and Quianna Chaney added 13 for LSU, which bounced back from a 77-74 upset at Mississippi on Thursday by shooting 50.8 percent (33-of-65) and finishing with a 45-27 rebounding advantage.

Reserve Lauren Roberts scored 10 points for Mississippi State (10-7, 1-2), whose starters were outscored, 40-26, in dropping to 1-3 against ranked opponents this season.
