Arizona State routs UCLA for fifth straight win
Jan 18, 2007 - 8:29 PM TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Danielle Orsillo helped Arizona State exact a measure of revenge against UCLA.Orsillo scored 16 points as the 10th-ranked Sun Devils routed the Bruins, 92-52, in a Pac-10 Conference contest.
It was the fifth straight victory for Arizona State (17-2, 7-1 Pac-10), which was ousted by UCLA in the semifinals of last year's conference tournament.
But the Sun Devils bounced back with ease Thursday thanks to Orsillo, who came off the bench to pace five players in double figures.
Aubree Johnson scored 15 points, reserve Dymond Simon had 14, Jill Noe poured in 13 and fellow guard Briann January added 10 on 4-of-4 shooting for Arizona State, which built a 46-23 halftime cushion and led by as many as 44 points in the second half.
Lindsey Pluimer scored 17 points for the Bruins (9-11, 3-5), who shot just 33 percent (18-of-55) and committed 25 turnovers.
