Oklahoma beats up Baylor, advances to Big 12 title game
Mar 9, 2007 - 5:29 AM OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Courtney Paris scored 20 points and collected 14 rebounds as No. 11 Oklahoma beat up No. 17 Baylor, 78-64, in the Big 12 Conference Tournament semifinals.Jenna Plumley had 24 points and Ashley Paris added 13 and grabbed eight rebounds as Oklahoma (25-4) advances to the conference tournament championship game to play Iowa State.
Courtney Paris registered her 62nd career double-double to break the conference record held by former Baylor star Sophie Young.
The Sooners shot 46 percent (24-of-52) from the field and held a 41-34 advantage in rebounds, leading to a 21-11 lead in second-chance points.
Jessica Morrow scored 25 points and Latara Darrett added 10 off the bench for Baylor (25-7), which shot 37 percent (24-of-65) from the floor despite holding a 10-0 advantage in fast-break points.
