Parker leads Tennessee past Notre Dame
Dec 30, 2006 - 10:31 PM KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Candace Parker and Tennessee are ready for Southeastern Conference play.Parker had 22 points and 10 rebounds as No. 4 Tennessee pulled away for a 78-54 victory over Notre Dame.
Sidney Spencer and Shannon Bobbitt added 17 points apiece for the Lady Vols (12-1), who held just a 29-27 halftime lead before taking control over the final 20 minutes.
Parker also collected five blocks for Tennessee, which opens its conference schedule here against Alabama on Wednesday.
Charel Allen scored 16 points for the Fighting Irish (9-4), who committed 29 turnovers in falling to 0-18 all-time against the Lady Vols.
