Davenport lifts Ohio State past Minnesota

Jan 5, 2007 - 4:42 AM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Jessica Davenport hit a personal milestone and kept a couple of team streaks intact.

Davenport had 22 points and 15 rebounds as No. 8 Ohio State pulled away in the second half for a 75-62 Big Ten Conference victory over Minnesota.

The two-time Big Ten Player of the Year, Davenport moved into second place on the school's career scoring list with 1,920, eight more than Tracey Hall.

Ohio State (12-1, 2-0 Big Ten), which trailed, 33-32, at halftime, extended its home winning streak to 21 games and notched its 19th straight victory over a conference foe.

Brandie Hoskins added 17 points for the Buckeyes, who used a 26-6 second-half spurt to take a 64-45 lead with just over 6 1/2 minutes to play.

Emily Fox scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures for Minnesota (9-6, 1-2), which committed 20 turnovers.
