Paris, Oklahoma extend streaks in beating Nebraska
Jan 7, 2007 - 3:49 AM LINCOLN, Nebraska (Ticker) -- Foul trouble could only slow Courtney Paris for so long.Paris scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead No. 7 Oklahoma to a 77-69 victory over Nebraska in the Big 12 Conference.
Due to foul trouble, the 6-4 Paris sat out the final 8:51 of the first half and the Sooners (12-1, 2-0 Big 12) went to the break trailing, 33-31.
The second half was another story as Paris scored 14 points to go with 10 boards in registering her 41st consecutive double-double.
Kendra Moore scored 12 of her 18 points after the break for Oklahoma, which won its 21st consecutive conference game despite committing 18 turnovers to nine for Nebraska (13-3, 1-1).
Kelsey Griffin scored 22 points to lead the Cornhuskers, who suffered through an atrocious shooting day, connected on 1-of-17 3-point attempts.
