Atunrase lifts Texas A&M over Texas Tech
Jan 11, 2007 - 5:40 AM LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- Morenike Atunrase had an awful shooting night, but she made her shots count.Atunrase hit the winning basket with 64 seconds to play to lift No. 19 Texas A&M to a 49-47 Big 12 Conference victory over Texas Tech.
The team's leading scorer coming in at 15.5 points per game, Atunrase managed just five points on 2-of-10 shooting as the Aggies bounced back from Saturday's 48-45 loss at Kansas State in their conference opener.
Lenka Zimova scored 11 points and Takia Sparks added 10 for Texas A&M (11-3, 1-1 Big 12), which shot 36 percent (20-of-56) from the floor.
Alesha Robertson had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Texas Tech (10-7, 1-2), which cost itself a chance at victory by making just 9-of-22 free throws.
