McCoughtry, Covington lead Louisville past Pitt
Jan 25, 2007 - 4:04 AM LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Louisville's Angel McCoughtry and Jazz Covington were double trouble for Pittsburgh.McCoughtry and Covington each recorded a double-double as the 17th-ranked Cardinals posted a 72-59 victory over No. 23 Pittsburgh in a Big East Conference matchup.
McCoughtry scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while Covington added 17 and 11 for Louisville (19-2, 5-2 Big East).
Pittsburgh (15-4, 3-3 Big East) jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead but was down by as many as 20 with 11:39 to play. The Panthers never got closer than 12 the rest of the way.
Shavonte Zellous scored 22 points and added five rebounds for Pittsburgh, which committed 18 turnovers leading to 24 Louisville points.
