Marquette beats Cincinnati for fourth win in row
Jan 27, 2007 - 10:08 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Krystal Ellis scored 17 points to lead No. 18 Marquette to its fourth straight win, a 76-59 Big East Conference victory over Cincinnati.Christina Quaye and Danielle Kamm added 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Golden Eagles (19-2, 7-1 Big East).
Marquette broke the game open with an 11-0 run in the second half. Jasmine McCullough scored six of her eight points in the spurt that was capped by a three-point play from Quaye for a 52-38 advantage with 9:27 to play.
Cincinnati (12-8, 3-5) never got the lead under double digits thereafter.
Carla Jacobs scored 17 points for the Bearcats, who shot 36 percent (17-of-47) and connected on just 5-of-20 3-point attempts.
