Greene continues to step up for Huskies
Jan 31, 2007 - 4:45 AM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- A day after being named Big East Conference Player of the Week, Kalana Greene lived up to the honor.Greene scored 20 points and fifth-ranked Connecticut remained undefeated in the Big East with a 70-60 victory over Cincinnati.
On Monday, Greene was given the award after averaging 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over DePaul and Notre Dame. Against the Bearcats, Greene was 10-of-17 from the field and added seven rebounds.
Mel Thomas and Renee Montgomery each scored 14 points and Kaili McLaren had a strong game off the bench with eight points, eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks for the Huskies (19-2, 9-0 Big East).
Emy Ogide and Carla Jacobs each had 12 points for Cincinnati (12-9, 3-6).
