Lucas-Perry scores 20 as Michigan State pounds Penn State
Feb 2, 2007 - 7:44 AM EAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) -- Victoria Lucas-Perry led a complete demolition with 20 points and seven rebounds as 23rd-ranked Michigan State pounded Penn State, 76-49, in a Big 10 Conference clash.Aisha Jefferson added 16 points and Rene Hayes added 15 for the Spartans (16-6, 7-2 Big 10), who shot 50 percent (32-of-64), held a 40-30 edge on the glass and limited the Lady Lions to 33 percent (18-of-55).
Penn State led by three points midway through the first half but Michigan State hit the break with a 48-29 advantage after shooting 57 percent (21-of-37), including 5-of-7 3-pointers.
Tyra Grant scored 22 points despite shooting 7-of-21 for the Lady Lions (11-12, 4-6), who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
