Chaney, Fowles lead LSU past lowly Florida
Feb 9, 2007 - 5:36 AM BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Quianna Chaney scored 14 points and Sylvia Fowles added 11 points and 11 rebounds as No. 7 Louisiana State posted a 79-66 Southeastern Conference victory over struggling Florida.RaShonta LeBlanc had 11 points as all 12 members of the squad scored for LSU (22-3, 8-2 SEC), which has won seven of its last eight games.
Chaney and Fowles both connected on 5-of-11 from the field, and Fowles added four blocks for the Tigers, who shot 50 percent (30-of-60).
It was the 12 straight double-double for Fowles, a Wade Trophy Award candidate who now has a total of 18 on the season.
Depree Bowden scored 20 points and Marshae Dotson added 16 and 10 boards for the Lady Gators (6-19, 0-10), who shot 38 percent (21-of-55) and remain winless in conference play.
