Appel, Stanford rout Oregon
Feb 18, 2007 - 12:50 AM EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Jayne Appel had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Candace Wiggins collected 17 and seven as Stanford used hot shooting to post a 74-56 victory over Oregon in a Pac-10 Conference clash.Brooke Smith had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinal (23-4, 15-1 Pac-10), who shot 52 percent (30-of-58) from the field and 4-of-10 on 3-pointers.
Appel shot 9-of-18 from the floor, and Wiggins, who showed no ill-effects from a ankle injury that had limited her earlier this week, was 7-of-13 for Stanford, which dominated the glass, outrebounding Oregon, 44-32.
Eleanor Haring scored 19 points for the Ducks (15-11, 7-9), who shot just 31 percent (20-of-63).
