Quaye leads No. 21 Marquette past 19th-ranked Louisville
Feb 18, 2007 - 1:04 AM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Christina Quaye scored 20 points and Krystal Ellis added 19 as 21st-ranked Marquette posted a 65-54 victory over No. 19 Louisville in a Big East Conference matchup.The Golden Eagles (22-4, 10-3 Big East) have now won three consecutive games since losing two in a row to Rutgers and conference-leading Connecticut.
Marquette held a 34-30 advantage at intermission and pulled away for good in the second half with an impressive 12-1 surge, outscoring Louisville (22-5, 8-5) after the break, 31-24.
The Golden Eagles shot 39 percent (21-of-53) from the field and scored 23 points off 19 turnovers.
Angel McCoughtry collected 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals, who shot 34 percent (20-of-58) and have lost two straight conference road contests.
