Smith leads Delaware to upset over James Madison
Feb 23, 2007 - 3:21 AM NEWARK, Delaware (Ticker) -- Tyresa Smith scored 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Delaware upset Colonial Athletic Association rival James Madison, 77-67.Chrissy Fisher had 22 points and collected nine rebounds and Kyle DeHaven added 10 points and handed out six assists as Delaware (23-4, 14-2 CAA) moved into second place in the conference behind No. 25 James Madison.
Smith shot 10-of-19 from the field and converted 12-of-15 free throws for the Fightin' Blue Hens, which shot 47 percent (24-of-51) from the field.
Meredith Alexis scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for James Madison (24-3, 15-1), which shot 34 percent (23-of-67) from the floor and lost their first conference game of the season.
