Gant lifts Texas A&M over Baylor
Feb 25, 2007 - 9:56 PM WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Danielle Gant scored 22 points to lead No. 18 Texas A&M to a 63-58 Big 12 Conference victory over No. 14 Baylor.Gant shot 9-of-11 from the floor for the Aggies (22-5, 12-3 Big 12), who won their third straight game and moved into first place in the conference standings.
Baylor (24-5, 11-4) led, 32-28, at halftime, but shot a dismal 20 percent (6-of-30) in the second half.
Takia Starks collected 14 points and Morenike Atunrase added 11 for Texas A&M, which shot 38 percent (23-of-60) from the field.
The Lady Bears were led by Bernice Mosby, who scored 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. Jhasmin Player added 12 points for Baylor, which shot just 33 percent (21-of-63).
