Fowles leads LSU past Alabama
Feb 26, 2007 - 12:06 AM BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as No. 7 Louisiana State cruised to an 70-27 Southeastern Conference rout of Alabama.Porsha Phillips scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting for the Lady Tigers (24-6, 10-4 SEC), who snapped their season-high two-game losing streak by handing the Crimson Tide (10-19, 0-14) their 14th straight loss.
Erica White had seven assists and four steals for LSU, which shot 45 percent (28-of-62) from the field.
Navonda Moore collected eight points for Alabama, which shot a dismal 17 percent (8-of-47) and committed 29 turnovers leading to 26 points for LSU.
Alabama has lost 18 consecutive conference games dating to last season.
